The Liverpool City Region has appointed four leading healthcare professionals, including CEO of NeedleSmart Cliff Kirby, as new members of the board for Health and Life Sciences.

Managed by the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the board sets out the development and direction of the sector and drives forward the sector’s economic growth. It also supports the growth of regional companies and helps to attract inward investment.

 

Cliff Kirby has spent his career in the world of engineering, innovation and product development. Cliff is the founder and CEO of Needlesmart, a unique and innovative product/s addressing the immediate issues around sharps injury and disposal.

The sector is of great importance to the Liverpool City Region, as the Health and Life Sciences sector currently contributes approximately £4.5 billion into the local economy providing jobs for over 125,000 people.
